Paolo Palazzo – Organista, laureato con il massimo dei voti e lode in Discipline musicali – Organo – e in Didattica della musica; diplomato in Organo e Composizione presso il Conservatorio N. Rota di Monopoli sotto la guida del M° Tagliente. Ha studiato composizione con L. Macchi e R. Beccaceci, direzione di coro con F. M. Bressan. Ha frequentato corsi di perfezionamento di L. Ghielmi, M. Kapsner, M. Croci e dell’Ufficio Liturgico Nazionale della CEI. Ha svolto attività concertistica in Italia, Indonesia, Polonia e USA. Ha suonato in numerosi concerti del Festival della Valle d’Itria, specie nelle produzioni degli ensemble diretti dal M° A. Greco e collaborato, anche come formatore, con la Fondazione Paolo Grassi. Ha svolto tirocinio e attività di docenza come Assistente Professore di Composizione, continuista e pianista accompagnatore presso l’Università di Scienze Applicate Metropolia di Helsinki. Ha composto colonne sonore e musiche per produzioni multimediali della Rai, della London School of Film, e sound design di campagne pubblicitarie (per noti marchi, tra cui Puma e Kellogg’s) con agenzie di produzione internazionali. È docente presso l’I.C. San Giovanni Bosco di Massafra. Nel 2018 ha partecipato al 68º Festival di Sanremo orchestrando e dirigendo il brano “Custodire” per Renzo Rubino e Serena Rossi (Warner Music). Ha inoltre pubblicato musica da camera in edizioni a stampa: The Gloomy Suite ( per pianoforte, 2017), Il Codice Atlantico ( per violino e organico misto, 2020), Ad Lucem ( per due soprani e organo, 2022).
BIO
Paolo’s musical studies include a Bachelor of Music in Organ and Composition from the Nino Rota Conservatory of Music (Monopoli) where he studied with Domenico Tagliente; he completed two Master of Music in Organ performance and Music Education, both with honors. He also studied composition with Roberto Beccaceci and Luca Macchi, choir conducting with Filippo Maria Bressan. He attended baroque organ praxis classes with Lorenzo Ghielmi, Maurizio Croci and Michael Kapsner; roman-catholic liturgical music studies under C.E.I. (Conferenza Episcopale Italiana). He has performed extensively as soloist and chamber musician in Italy, Finland, USA and Indonesia (as guest soloist with the Jakarta Symphony Orchestra for the Indonesian Catholic Synod of Bishops, and with St. Caecilia’s Choir). From 2013 he has played as organist joining the baroque ensemble of the Festival della Valle d’Itria. Since 2003 he works as teacher, performer and composer, on motion pictures, short films and commercial campaigns, mostly with mexican agency CruDeLadies. Some of his clients include: Kelloggs, Audi, Reebok, Mtv, Toyota, Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia Production, London School of Film.
In 2014 he worked as Assistant Professor of Music Composition and Repetiteur in various degree programmes at the Helsinki Metropolia University of Applied Sciences through the LLP Leonardo da Vinci Placement.
Although he prefers the counterpoint, he happily collaborates with pop artists, such as Renzo Rubino (Warner Music), Madman and Priestess (TantaRoba, Universal Music P.). On February 2018, he arranged and conducted the orchestra version of “Custodire”, by Renzo Rubino – feat. Serena Rossi, at the “Festival di Sanremo” (Rai). He published three score books: The Gloomy Suite (for piano, 2017), Il Codice Atlantico (for violin and other instruments, 2020), Ad Lucem (sacred music, for two sopranos and organ, 2022).
